I did get out of the house some today. I went to Walgreen's, Rite-Aid and CVS in search of a deal on Cadbury Mini Eggs. I didn't find any, though, and believe me, I know that God had a hand in that. I also stopped at Big Lots. If you haven't done it in a while, I highly recommend a leisurely stroll through there...you know, to get your creative juices flowing....to make you realize there are people who actually shop there on a regular basis and live to tell about it. I saw a woman hooked to an oxygen tank buying bedroom slippers. I bought some little plastic Care Bears for Anna Banana and made my way to the car, all the while thanking God that I get to shop at Target.
Cowboy has again slept through his shift as caretaker. Clover Nightingale is Johnny on the Spot, though, not letting me get too far out of her sight. She always has at least one paw touching me, and she will do the most dare devilish of acts to make that possible such as suspending her fuzzy body from the edge of the sofa or cramming her big fluffy booty under the chair in the office so she can rest her head on my foot while I type.
Have I told you about the bruises on my body? YIKES! I noticed some kid staring at my arm when I was in Walgreen's today so I took a look myself and couldn't believe it. I look like I've been beaten with a lead pipe! I'm not sure why it's so bad, but I recall there being some discussion in the hospital among the nurses about where to give certain shots so that this very thing would not happen. I hope they worked that out because I would hate for the next person who leaves there to look this bad.
I'm actually getting a hair cut tomorrow! I'm going through magazines now to find that perfect look to tear out and take with me. So, I'm thinking that Wednesday may be a good day after all...removal of hair and staples...YIPPEE! Clover is getting a hair cut tomorrow, too, but shhhhh....she doesn't know it yet. I'm not sure I can bring myself to let them cut that beautiful coat anyway. I'm still fretting over what to do about her hair and the heat...
And don't even get me started about the AC...or lack thereof.
OK, so I've got the rest of this week off to recover, but I feel like I should be doing something constructive, too, like I don't know...finishing my scrap projects I started at the event? Sewing the drapes for the office? Making that pillow for the bed? Playing with Bobbie Jo's D70s that she left over here? All of that is sounding good to me, but the trouble starts when I try to get up and actually do any of it. I'm exhausted. From what???? It's so frustrating! Even sitting here is wearing me down. Let's just hope I catch a second wind one day and wash some clothes or write some thank you notes before I have to go back to work. A girl can dream, I guess.
My friend, Robin, is on her way over with dinner. :) What a treat! PJ is the most darling of husbands, but he cannot cook a thing. Well, he says he can cook poppyseed chicken, but I've yet to see it, and now I can't have any seeds, so I guess I won't ever see it. And in his defense, he did prepare a Lean Cuisine for me last night, but I worried about it the whole time he was cooking. Anyway, I'm so looking forward to real food! And I think she made chicken and asparagus. (And I have some Peeps stashed away for dessert!) Things are looking up around here!
