Not pregnant. Better than that.

I messaged a couple of friends that I chat with on Facebook towards the end of last week that I had some big news to share and would get back to them this weekend. Of course, they both thought I was going to say I'm pregnant. Well, one of them actually thought it, and the other was joking when she suggested it. (She's got jokes.)

OK, so no. I am not pregnant. Never will I be pregnant. That will never be the correct guess, people. Do we need to go over that part again? Seriously? You're starting to sound like my mother did before my sister finally had three babies and got her off my back.

The big news? I have been selected for the Scrap, Etc. Design Team! I submitted my designs and such a few weeks ago and I found out last week I made it. I'm super thrilled and a bit overwhelmed and slightly intimidated all at once. (Nothing like morning sickness.)

The announcement was officially made yesterday morning. In case you didn't know, Lucy has moved the store to a much bigger location on Valleydale Road. She opened the new store yesterday morning, and it is BEAUTIFUL! It's also HUGE and full of great new merchandise. (Well, it may not be full anymore. It was pretty packed yesterday. But there's lots more on the way.) I love the new NOT PINK store...the big open space for cropping, visiting, hanging with your peeps. There's a play area for kids, too, I think. (I heard some banging around of toys and childlike chatter in another room.) You seriously have to go check it out. Lucy has such a great vision for the store and I'm so excited to be a part of this team of very talented and creative ladies.

I can't tell you how many friends I have made through this hobby...too many to count, but I do know that I have met at least three or four women who have made a huge difference in my life. If that's not reason enough to put yourself out there - then I don't know what is.

For those of you not in the whole scrapbooking scene - this just means I will be designing layouts, cards, projects, etc. for display in the store and in the site gallery. It also means that I might be hosting some classes, crops, etc. It doesn't mean anything about my day job, the one that takes all my time and then pays me a nice sum of money and excellent benefits, will change. (Still there. Still getting ready for a busy fall and frantic football season.)

So...see? I told you it was better than being pregnant. For me, anyway. And for PJ, I'm sure. I think he rather enjoys my cutting and pasting and art making. It gives him more time to read books and look at flair on Facebook.

Can't wait to see the new design team's work displayed at the new store. The walls were a little bare...awaiting all the new layouts, I guess :)

Oh yes, it is definitely way better than being pregnant. CONGRATS and yipee! I am super excited for you, and selfishly for me, because this means I will get to see you more! YAY!
