Obviously, it's going to be a little rough getting through the holidays this year. Oh how I wish I could trade every gift I've ever gotten for the chance to spend one more Christmas morning watching my mom watch us. She was an amazing Santa Claus...and not because of the money she spent...she didn't have any money...it was all in the presentation...because she wanted us to be WOWed. And we were.
It's interesting that I should find this little video on several different blogs today. I've been trying to have this conversation with family members and with myself for a good while now. Some people are more receptive than others. And some days I live by this message more than others...but I want to...and I guess that's a good place to start.
What a wonderful video. Thank you for sharing.

I love this. Keep on having that conversation-at one time I wouldn't have been receptive to it, but eventually I was and my family has now chosen to limit gift giving pretty much strictly to children and just enjoy being together. As a result, I do increase my giving to children for Christmas, but I haven't done anything lasting like the video suggests. Thanks for the prompt. I'm still thinking of you and praying for you and your family.
